In Qatar, most ACs run for eight to ten months a year. Heat, dust and humidity put constant load on filters, coils and fans, so servicing is not optional if you want steady cooling.
The general rule
For homes, a full service at least twice a year works well: once before summer starts and once after it ends. Shops, offices and restaurants that run their units all day should plan for three or four services a year.
What a proper service includes
A technician should clean or replace filters, wash the indoor coil, clean the outdoor unit, check the drain line, test gas pressure, inspect electrical parts and confirm that the unit cools as it should.
Why it pays off
A clean AC cools faster, uses less power and breaks down less often. Small faults found early cost far less than an emergency repair in the middle of July.
